The Immortality of Hercules in the Gardens of Villa d'Este
Dr. Guillermo Calvo Soriano
Going to the Ends of the World, Hercules bears witness to the proximity between the Cosmos and Chaos, the Incessant Fight against the Primitive Forces. He occupies the Central Niche of the Fountain of Dragons where he appears under the Colossal Aspect of himself. Taking the Mace from him, he illustrates the Permanent Struggle that, in the Sublunar World, the Forces of Integration and Civilization must wage against the Power of chaotic dissemination of the Monstrous Powers.
